I received this flier by snail mail a few days ago, thought I'd share it. FairPoint is now officially Consolidated Communications in New England.
I have DSL and POTS through a CLEC so while not a Consolidated customer directly, I depend on their outside copper plant for my service.
I wish them well. Hopefully they will be able to invest enough in the New England area to make them competitive with Cable Internet, time will tell. Maybe I'll even live long enough to get FTTP but I'm not holding my breath. I'd be happy just having them deploy remote terminals and short range VDSL, wouldn't even mind having a "lawn fridge" next to my driveway.
